We were full of joy as our exams had finally come to an end. We were in full swing planning how to have fun. My friend Sahiyhi suggested that we go to Lumbini park. We all agreed it as a superb idea. That evening we met in Lumbini park at 6 pm as planned. Kavya was very eager for boating. So we began our fun as we stepped into the boat. It was a slow boat but we enjoyed playing "dum charades".
After the end of our trip we had cold drinks. Then Mehana suggested that we go to the water games. I love water games so I lead my friends. We first had a go at the water slide. We enjoyed each and every second. We went several times as we had lot of fun and enjoyed it throughly.. At the end of our water ride we were soaked from head to toe. The time was already 8:15 pm.
Time passes so quickly when you don't want it to. The last show of the lazer show was scheduled at 8:30 pm. We wiped ourselves dry quickly and bought the tickets. We were all very excited and happy without the slightest hint of what was in store for us. We seated ourselves in the bottom most row with lots of popcorn. The show started with an awesome performance. After 5 minutes there was a big bang. We looked back and people were screaming and rushing down. We heard gunshots, people running in every direction, causing a big stampede. We jumped out of our seats and fled towards the exit. There was a big crowd there, pool of blood and suddenly from my right side 2 men with their faces covered with hoods came towards me. I was rooted at the spot without knowing what to do. I was overcome with fear. I tried to shout but no sound came from my throat. He aimed his gun towards me and I thought that was the end. But it was the miracle of miracles as his gun was stuck. I heard police sirens, sound of helicopters it was like as if the whole Indian navy, police, NSG commandos, commandos, army and everyone were at the park. Then the terrorists came towards me hit me at on head and escaped. I fainted.
When I woke up I found it was an unfamiliar room. My family was leaning on my bed. I was in Yashoda hospital and all around me there were people being nursed. Then later I learned that there were 3 terrorists in lumbini park that evening. The defence forces were there within minutes and rescued us. The terrorists were caught alive. The death toll was just 15. Much harm wasn't done. My friends were quite safe. That was" the day when I met terrorists".
