Sunitichandra Mishra
Born on 31 May, an original native of Sheohar district of Bihar, Sunitichandra Mishra (S.C. Mishra) completed his early schooling in Sheohar and then in Darbhanga where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Hindi Literature. He learnt English through self- studies. He further moved to Patna where he worked in various capacities: as a schoolteacher, as an office secretary and as a sub-editor of a local weekly magazine. In 1991, he moved to Gwalior to serve in a spiritual institution as an office correspondent, translator and computer operator. Presently he is working on the Research & Innovation Wing of a reputed school of Gwalior where he is also responsible for bringing out several in-house publications for teachers and children. A person inspired by the writings of Baha’u’llah (Prophet Founder of the Baha’i Faith), he translated the ‘Most Holy Book’ of the Baha’i Faith into Hindi and also translated many other books. He also served as sole author of “Gwalior Plus”, a regional supplement of the Times of India for some time and started his own magazine for Children & Teenagers. As a freelancer, he contributes his poems and write-ups to several websites but his main area of interest is ‘promoting moral grounding of children’. |
