Lost
by Sunwrita Dastidar

Wandering on my own
Wishing I could be found
In the forest all alone
Going round and round
Making not a sound.

Lost in mind and body I am
I wish to find someone who
As well as you did, understands me
My feelings and myself too
She’ll stay, but not like you.

You who left me all alone
Leaving behind only memories
That taste sweet and bitter all at once
But I want you back as mine
I want to go back in time.

Tell me, now who’s left for me?
To stand up to me now that you’re gone
Gone from my life forever more
Leaving me all alone
Taking away my home.

Here I am, lost from the world
Lost from all the people I know
You’re at peace while I’m at war
War with my mind and body for
I never wanted you to go
But I know, it must be so
Yet I want you back as mine
To turn back the wheel of time.
