On Mothers’ Day – 2009

We celebrate Mothers’ Day to honor all mothers in the world. My mother is a special gift to me given by God. I love her for her care, concern, intelligence and  love for me. She is hard- working, patient, loving and caring. She cooks for me, teaches me, takes me for outings, buys everything I want, plays with me and puts me to sleep by reading out a bed time story or singing a lullaby. My mother is the best mother on earth. Sometimes she is also very strict if I am neglecting my studies or if I am being naughty or ziddi. I thank God for giving me a beautiful, smart and kind-hearted mother. She is also very kind to everyone. My friends tell me that “Parth, your Mamma is so good.” That makes me proud, and I tell, “Yes, of course because she is my Mamma.” She talks politely to all my friends and their parents. If someone hits me and I want to hit him back, Mamma says, “ No baba, don’t hit him. Just forgive and forget. Next time he will come to you and say sorry.” Once I shared my breakfast with my friend because he had forgotten to bring his tiffin box. Mamma was happy, and she got me a gift for being kind to others. My Mamma also teaches our maid’s son during her leisure time because she loves all kids. She also feeds him and gives him clothes. When I read out the story of  Jhansi ki Rani and how she fought bravely and died, my mother shed tears and  told, “See, one should be always prepared to serve the nation and sacrifice one’s life for the sake of the nation.”  

Today is Mothers’ Day. I wished her in the morning and gave her a bouquet and a teddy bear. She was so happy. She took me out and we had lot of fun. My friend Sahitya didi was telling     that we have one more life after this life. Is that true? I wish my Mamma to be my Mamma in each life.
