Sour Grapes? Not Anymore
by Shubham Bajaj (8 Years*)

Once Lomdi the fox was roaming around in the jungle searching for food. He searched for long and finally saw a grape vine. The grapes looked so delicious that his mouth watered. The grapes were big, sweet and juicy. He wanted to eat them. So started to jump up to reach the grapes. He jumped higher and higher, but he could not even touch the grapes. He did not want to give up and did not want to call the grapes ‘sour grapes’. He decided to call his friends for help. Then they could stand on the top of each other’s shoulder and pluck the grapes. So he went to his friends and said, “ Could you please help me pluck some sweet grapes from a vine? I will share with you and we all will have a feast.” All the foxes agreed and went running to the orchard. They stood under grape vine. They started to climb up on each other’s shoulders. Soon there were six foxes all stacked on top of each other. The sixth one was Lomdi herself. She jumped and got the grapes easily and shared with all of them. They all had a good feast.

‘The Sour Grapes’ changed to
‘The Sweet Grapes’

by Anush

One day there was a fox in the jungle. While walking in the forest, he saw some grapes hanging from the grapevine. He went near the vine and jumped up to eat the grapes. But he couldn’t reach the grapes, because they were very high. So he thought, “These grapes are very high, I cannot eat them.”

An idea struck his mind. He went inside the forest and collected some strong and stout sticks. He made a ladder out of them. Then the fox climbed the tree with the help of the ladder. He ate the grapes. The grapes tasted very sweet.

Three Billy Goats Gruff
by Yash (6 Years*)

Once upon a time, there were three Billy goats. One was the smallest goat. The second was little bigger and the third was the biggest. Across the bridge they saw lot of grass. Since there grass was over they wished to reach the other side of the bridge. Under the bridge a troll lived in the river. The smallest goat went on the bridge. His hooves went trip, trop, trip, trip. When he reached the bridge the troll said, “I am going to gobble you up.” The goat said, “Please don’t do that. My didi is fatter than me. You can eat her.”  Next the middle goat came and the troll said, “I am going to gobble you up.” “Don’t gobble me. My bhiya is fatter than me.” So the troll let her go.

Now the biggest goat came. The troll said, “I am going to gobble you up.” The goat thought of an idea. He was tired of eating grass anyway so he went home and ate spinach to make himself strong. Then he came and took the troll on the horns and threw him in the river. He crossed the bridge and ate lots of grass.
