Forever Fresh and Tingling
by Ramendra Kumar

“Nothing in the world is as powerful as an idea whose time has come,” wrote the famous Roman poet Ovid more than 2000 years ago.

We believe that the idea of launching an exclusive portal for children devoted to the dreams, aspirations, creativity and talent of generation next is a potent idea whose time has well and truly come!

Our vision is to make BoloKids a universal site which is Kids-friendly, Kids-centric and Kids-driven. We shall strive to continuously adopt, adapt and innovate so that BoloKids remains forever fresh and tingling.

In the last three weeks since its birth BoloKids has added several sections. This week too we are introducing a new column called "Nature". The well known children’s writer Swapna Dutta will write on Trees and Plants in her inimitable style culling from her vast experience as a part of the editorial team of Encyclopedia Britannica and Limca Book of Records. “My column is not going to be a textbook on botany! What I plan to do is share some interesting facts, fascinating info and intriguing legends about trees with you,” says the writer and I am sure you are all ‘willing, waiting and wanting’ to see what treasures she has in store for you.

Like I mentioned earlier BoloKids is going to be Kid-centric. Keeping this in view we are introducing another columnist – ten year old Aniket. He will share his Animal Fundas with you showcased under "Animals". You too are most welcome to contribute.

And talking about contributions you would have noticed that BoloKids offers you freedom to showcase your talent in every field – whether it is writing, drawing, photography, quizzing or even simply sharing your views.

Someone once said, “Feedback is the breakfast of champions.” Well, make BoloKids a champion site by enriching it with a wholesome diet of your creativity.

In this update there is also a poem "Birth Story" by Rabindranath Tagore which is verse at its sublime best. It has been transcreated beautifully by Kumud Biswas. Nostalgia is a very powerful feeling. Dr. Amitabh Mitra goes back in time to his childhood spent in Kolkata and in the process creates images which I am sure will touch a chord in your heart.

The last date for participating in our first workshop is only three more days away.  We welcome you to send your creative contributions on the theme of the workshop in time.

Happy Reading and Happy Writing!
